1. Core Privacy Architecture: Zero Server File Uploads

conversion.zone provides file conversion, image manipulation, metadata scrubbing, and document processing that operates 100% locally within your browser. Files, documents, images, and data entered into or converted by our tools are processed in memory using client-side JavaScript, WebAssembly, and HTML5 APIs. Files are never uploaded, transmitted to, or stored on remote servers.

2. Local Storage and Client Preferences

We utilize browser local storage (localStorage) and first-party cookies solely for user preferences, including dark/light mode, ad level controls, and authentication tokens for Zone Pro subscribers. No file contents, file names, or converted binaries are saved to remote servers.

3. Zone Pro Licensing & Device Authentication

When you activate a Zone Pro Lifetime Pass, we associate your license key with the purchase email address provided at checkout. To prevent unauthorized license sharing while allowing flexible multi-device access across calculation.zone and conversion.zone, our licensing service enforces a limit of up to five (5) active devices per license key:

  • Device Identifiers: We generate and store a pseudonymous client device identifier (UUID) along with high-level browser and operating system labels (e.g., “Firefox on Linux”) and timestamps of last active verification. We do not collect hardware serial numbers, MAC addresses, or location telemetry.
  • Slot Management: You maintain full control over your active device slots and may view or deactivate any connected browser directly within the Zone Pro management modal.

4. Payment Processing & Stripe Disclosures

All financial transactions for Zone Pro Lifetime Passes are handled securely by Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”), an independent, PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment service provider. conversion.zone does not process, receive, or store sensitive payment card credentials (such as credit card numbers, expiration dates, or CVVs).

How Payment Data Is Collected and Handled:

  • Direct Checkout Collection: Payment details (including credit cards, debit cards, and digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay) are entered directly into Stripe-hosted checkout interfaces. Your payment information is securely transmitted from your browser directly to Stripe without passing through our web servers.
  • Information We Receive: Upon successful transaction confirmation, Stripe provides us with non-sensitive order metadata, including your customer email address, transaction timestamp, payment amount, currency, and Stripe reference identifiers (Checkout Session ID and Payment Intent ID). This information is used strictly to issue, deliver, verify, and authenticate your Zone Pro license key.
  • Fraud Prevention & Security: Stripe uses cookies, device signals, and IP addresses to evaluate transaction risk, prevent fraud, and comply with international anti-money laundering (AML) and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) regulations. For fraud prevention purposes, Stripe may act as an independent data controller.

5. Third-Party Advertising and Google AdSense

This website may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and third-party advertising networks for users on the Free Community tier. Third-party vendors use cookies to serve advertisements based on previous visits to this site or other destinations across the web.

  • Google uses cookies to serve ads to users based on visits to this website and external sites.
  • Zone Pro passholders may disable all advertising banners and contextual partner links at any time using the Ad Level & Partner Preferences controls.

6. Affiliate Marketing & Commercial Partner Disclosures (FTC 16 CFR Part 255)

7. Web Analytics and Server Infrastructure

We utilize Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic metrics without tracking cookies, persistent identifiers, or fingerprinting. Standard network server logs are maintained strictly for security monitoring and infrastructure integrity.

8. Privacy-Preserving Form & Tool Telemetry

To understand which file, document, image, and developer conversion utilities provide the most value and prioritize format support, conversion.zone collects lightweight, non-invasive usage telemetry.

  • Zero Personal Data: Telemetry records only aggregate numerical counters (e.g., that an image conversion, PDF split, or data transform was performed). No user files, filenames, text contents, IP addresses, or personal identifiers are ever stored with telemetry.
  • Zero File Data Stored: All file conversions and transformations run entirely client-side inside your browser sandbox. Your files never leave your device and are never uploaded to or inspected by our servers.
  • No Tracking Cookies or Fingerprinting: Our telemetry runs without tracking cookies, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprinting.
  • First-Party Processing: All aggregate counts are stored exclusively on our own encrypted first-party servers and are never shared with or accessible by third-party advertising or analytics networks.

9. Data Retention & User Rights

License verification data, purchase email records, and transaction IDs are retained as long as your lifetime license remains active, or as required by applicable tax and accounting laws. You may request the revocation of your license key, deletion of associated device slot records, or an export of stored transaction metadata by contacting our support team.
